CENTCOM Reaffirms Commitment to Defeating ISIS Remnants

U.S. Central Command stated that it and its partners remain dedicated to eliminating remaining ISIS elements to ensure their enduring defeat, while continuing to protect the U.S. homeland and allies.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) issued a statement reaffirming its commitment alongside partner forces to root out remaining remnants of ISIS. Admiral Brad Cooper, CENTCOM Commander, emphasized the objective of ensuring the group's enduring defeat.

"CENTCOM and our partners remain committed to rooting out remaining remnants of ISIS to ensure its enduring defeat," Cooper said. He added that the command will continue to defend the U.S. homeland, service members, and allies and partners across the region.

The statement comes as part of ongoing counterterrorism operations in the Middle East, where ISIS affiliates still pose a threat despite the collapse of the group's territorial caliphate.
