CENTCOM Enforces Naval Blockade Against Iran, Redirects 9 Commercial Vessels

US Central Command reports that American forces are enforcing a naval blockade against Iran in the Arabian Sea, redirecting 9 commercial vessels and disabling 1 as of July 22.

US Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced that American sailors aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS Michael Murphy (DDG 112) are monitoring operations in the Arabian Sea as part of a naval blockade against Iran.

As of July 22, to ensure full blockade compliance, CENTCOM has redirected 9 commercial vessels and disabled 1. The operation underscores heightened US naval presence in the region amid ongoing tensions with Iran.
