Bitcoin Long-Term Holder Supply Hits Record 15.8M BTC, Signaling Demand Weakness

Bitcoin supply held by long-term investors reached an all-time high of 15.8 million BTC, but CryptoQuant warns it reflects a lack of fresh demand rather than accumulation. Meanwhile, whale balances are declining at the fastest pace since early 2026.

According to CryptoQuant, the supply of Bitcoin held by long-term holders has hit a new record of 15.8 million BTC. However, analysts interpret this not as a sign of renewed accumulation but as an indicator that fresh demand is scarce.

At the same time, whale addresses holding between 1,000 and 10,000 BTC are reducing their balances at the fastest rate since early 2026. The growth of addresses with 100–1,000 BTC — which includes spot ETFs and corporate treasuries — has also slowed sharply after peaking at 970,000 BTC in October 2025.
