AI Demand Drives China’s Exports to Record Highs

China’s AI-related exports hit an all-time high, with chip, computer, and power equipment shipments surging on strong Western demand.

China’s AI-related exports have reached unprecedented levels, underscoring the sector’s growing role in the economy.

  • Chip exports climbed to a record ~$290 billion over the past 12 months, more than doubling in three years.
  • Computer and component shipments rose to ~$240 billion, the highest since 2022.
  • Power equipment exports hit a record ~$190 billion, with growth accelerating over the last two years.

Combined, these categories push total AI-related exports to roughly $720 billion over the past year, an all-time high. Western demand for Chinese-made AI hardware continues to surge.
