81% Beat Revenue, 85% Beat EPS – Highest Since Q2 2021 (FactSet)

According to FactSet, 81% of US companies have beaten revenue expectations and 85% have beaten EPS expectations in the current earnings season, both the highest readings since Q2 2021 and well above historical averages.

FactSet reports a strong US earnings season so far. Among companies that have reported, 81% exceeded revenue expectations, the highest proportion since the second quarter of 2021. This beats the 5-year average of 70% and the 10-year average of 67%.

On the earnings per share (EPS) front, 85% of firms beat analyst estimates, also the best showing since Q2 2021. This is above the 5-year average of 78% and the 10-year average of 76%.

The data signals robust corporate performance in the current reporting cycle, though it reflects only the companies that have reported to date.
