XM Joins Retail Brokers Expanding Seven-Day Gold CFD Trading

XM has launched GOLD24-7, a retail gold CFD tradeable seven days a week, joining Vantage Markets and CMC Markets in offering weekend access.

Retail broker XM has introduced GOLD24-7, a gold CFD product that can be traded seven days a week, extending access beyond conventional market hours. The launch, announced on 6 August 2026, places XM among a growing list of retail brokers offering weekend gold trading.

Unlike standard gold CFDs, GOLD24-7 allows trading on Saturdays and Sundays, when the underlying spot and futures markets are closed. XM said the product is designed to help clients respond to market-moving news outside regular hours. “Markets don't stop generating news simply because it's the weekend,” said Stavri Morti, Co-CEO at XM, noting that economic data, geopolitical developments and breaking news can shift sentiment between Friday’s close and Monday’s reopening. According to Morti, the product gives clients “greater flexibility to respond to those developments as they happen.”

The move follows similar launches across the retail space. Vantage Markets rolled out its own seven-day gold CFD, XAUUSD247, last month, while CMC Markets introduced weekend gold trading in April. Gold has been one of the most traded instruments on retail platforms this year, and brokers have been rolling out products aimed at narrowing the gap between Friday’s market close and Monday’s reopen.

Institutional providers have already moved in the same direction. Scope Prime launched DIGIXAU, a continuous gold CFD for institutional clients, in March, saying it helps manage exposure during weekend market closures. Match-Prime followed in June with 24/7 CFDs on gold, silver, oil and US indices through its Cyprus-regulated entity, providing pricing to brokers rather than retail traders directly. LMAX Group also began offering perpetual gold futures earlier this year.

The retail products differ from those institutional offerings. XM’s GOLD24-7 and Vantage’s XAUUSD247 are broker-priced CFDs for retail clients, rather than exchange-traded instruments such as LMAX’s perpetual gold futures.
