Weekly Roundup: FxPro Agrees EU Client Sale to Capital.com; Trade Nation Enters Poland
FxPro has agreed to transfer the clients of its Cyprus entity to Capital.com pending CySEC approval, while Trade Nation launched passportported CFD trading in Poland.
FxPro has agreed to sell the client book held by its Cyprus entity to Capital.com, subject to approval from the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission. Chief Operating Officer Peter Aust framed the transaction as a strategic adjustment rather than a withdrawal from the market, and the broker stressed that its Cyprus business represents only a limited portion of the wider group.
According to FxPro, its ownership, leadership, UK headquarters and Financial Conduct Authority licence will remain unchanged. Capital.com will screen transferring clients against its own onboarding, risk, categorisation and appropriateness requirements before accepting them. The deal adds to a recent run of transactions involving established CFD client books, as brokers reshape their European operations and push into other markets.
Separately, Trade Nation has gone live with CFD trading in Poland, operating under its Portuguese licence from the Comissão do Mercado de Valores Mobiliários through European passporting rules. The offering includes Polish-language onboarding and customer support, access to the TN Trader platform, TradingView and MetaTrader 4, and accounts denominated in Polish złoty. Tradable instruments include Poland 20 Futures, shares such as Allegro and CD Projekt, and the EUR/PLN, GBP/PLN and USD/PLN pairs. The move follows Trade Nation's expansion into Europe via Portugal and its agreement to acquire the UK client book of legacy broker FXCM.
Consolidation and regulatory shifts
Elsewhere, CXM Group agreed to acquire South African broker TD Markets, which serves more than 50,000 active clients across Africa, on undisclosed terms. TD Markets will keep its brand, chief executive Amar Ramith, its team and its Financial Sector Conduct Authority licence, with local client accounts, funds and partner agreements unchanged. CXM plans to add 24-hour gold trading and TradingView connectivity after completion.
On the regulatory side, ASIC proposed extending Australia's CFD product intervention order by a decade beyond its current expiry on 23 May 2027, alongside new margin and record-keeping requirements, and opened a consultation on digital asset platform guidance with responses due by 27 November 2026.
ESMA's latest annual report showed CFDs falling to 6.7% of reported cross-border retail investment holdings from 11%, with CFD clients at roughly 1.3 million as total reported clients rose from 10.5 million to 15.5 million. In other company news, Plus500 outlined plans for a US super-app in the first quarter of 2027 and a conditional deal for broker-dealer Hedge Capital Markets, NAGA lifted its first-half 2026 net profit to €1.1 million, and CMC Markets renamed CMC Connect as CMC Markets Institutional.
