Trade Republic Gives European Retail Investors Direct Access to IPOs

Trade Republic now allows European retail investors to subscribe to selected IPOs directly in its app, with pro-rata allocation at the official offer price and a €1 fee.

European neobroker Trade Republic announced on June 6, 2026, that it is now offering direct IPO subscriptions to its retail customers. Users of the Berlin-based platform can apply for shares in selected initial public offerings directly through the Trade Republic app before trading begins.

Allocation is handled proportionally — if demand exceeds supply, customers receive shares in line with the size of their subscription relative to total demand. The price paid is the official offer price, and participants only incur Trade Republic’s standard €1 trade settlement fee per order.

The first IPO eligible for subscription is available in the app as of today. Trade Republic said it plans to expand the range of available offerings significantly over time.

“Retail investors have fundamentally transformed the European capital market. Yet, investment opportunities like IPOs often remain restricted exclusively to institutional investors,” said Christian Hecker, co-founder of Trade Republic. “We are changing that now. With Trade Republic, millions of people in Europe now get direct access to IPOs at the official allocation price before the start of trading.”

The move comes as the number of European retail investors has surged in recent years, while IPO access largely stayed in the hands of institutions and often involved complex processes. Trade Republic’s new feature aims to simplify participation for individual investors and further its mission of providing fair, direct access to capital markets.
