StoneX Provides Clients with Access to SHFE Nickel Futures

StoneX Group now offers clients day-one access to Shanghai Futures Exchange Nickel futures and options via the Overseas Intermediary route, following Chinese regulatory approval.
StoneX Group Inc. (NASDAQ:SNEX), the parent company of retail FX brands FOREX.com and City Index, has begun providing clients with access to Nickel futures and options listed on the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE). The offering launched on the first day the contracts opened to international participants.
This follows approval from the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) for SHFE contracts to be traded by overseas investors. The Overseas Intermediary (OI) route provides a regulated framework for qualified international clients to trade select onshore Chinese futures and options.
StoneX is the largest non-bank Futures Commission Merchant (FCM) with OI permissions, already offering clients access to other onshore Chinese exchange-traded derivatives. The addition of SHFE Nickel contracts complements StoneX’s existing base metal offerings on the London Metal Exchange and CME Group, allowing clients to incorporate Chinese market pricing into their broader risk management strategies. SHFE Nickel is among the most actively traded base metal contracts globally.
New Access Route for International Traders
“We are thrilled that StoneX clients can trade into the SHFE contract from the first day of market open, highlighting our unwavering focus on offering clients the best tools for their trading and hedging strategies,” said Michael Skinner, Global Head of Metals at StoneX. “We remain wholly committed to bringing the full suite of StoneX capabilities to our global clients, moving quickly to support how they access markets in ways that are most relevant to their objectives.”
