Robinhood launches Crypto trading for UK clients

Robinhood has launched crypto trading for UK clients through FCA-registered Bitstamp UK, offering more than 50 digital assets with zero trading fees.

Robinhood has begun rolling out crypto trading to customers in the UK, giving them direct access to digital assets from the same app they already use for stocks, shares ISAs, options and futures. The rollout started this week, following the company's earlier registration on the UK Financial Conduct Authority's list of registered cryptoasset firms.

UK customer orders will be executed through Bitstamp UK Ltd, an FCA-registered cryptoasset service provider, and will be supported inside Robinhood's single all-in-one platform. The offering covers more than 50 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), XRP (XRP) and Hyperliquid (HYPE).

Robinhood said the new service carries zero trading fees, with no account maintenance or custody fees either. The company positioned the launch as a transparent, low-cost alternative to incumbent UK platforms, which it says often rely on opaque pricing structures and wide spreads that can reduce customer returns.

Jordan Sinclair, President of Robinhood U.K. Ltd and GM of Bitstamp UK Ltd, said a new wave of UK investors sees digital assets as an important part of a diversified portfolio. The launch, he added, is another major step toward making Robinhood the all-in-one investment platform for the UK.

Alongside the crypto trading launch, Robinhood introduced Robinhood Cortex Digests for Crypto. This generative-AI-powered feature analyses breaking news, market data, technical indicators and Robinhood's proprietary insights to explain in plain English the key factors driving price movements in individual crypto assets. The company says it aims to give investors timely, easy-to-understand market context that supports more informed investment decisions.

The expansion also builds on Robinhood's broader crypto ecosystem in the UK. UK developers can build on Robinhood Chain, a Layer 2 blockchain built on Arbitrum to institutional standards and natively connected to Robinhood's onchain ecosystem. Since its global launch on 1 July, the chain has generated more than $18 billion in DEX trading volume and surpassed $840 million in total value locked (TVL).
