River Markets Targets Institutional Distribution Role for OG.com and Crypto.com

River Markets agreed on 20 October to distribute OG.com event contracts and Crypto.com Exchange spot liquidity through a single institutional interface, building on its $8.5 million August round.

River Markets has signed a memorandum of understanding that would make it a distribution channel for institutional prediction-market trading, routing orders for both OG.com event contracts and Crypto.com Exchange spot liquidity through one platform. The non-binding agreement was dated 20 October.

Under the proposed structure, River would supply the client-facing trading interface, order routing and risk tooling. OG.com would contribute event contracts via its CFTC-regulated exchange and clearinghouse, while Crypto.com Exchange would provide digital-asset spot liquidity. Hedge funds, macro funds and systematic desks would reach both venues through River's existing workflow instead of building separate connections to each market.

Scope still undefined

The companies have not described a shared collateral or settlement system covering spot trades and event contracts, and no launch date has been announced. River's clients cannot yet trade the two markets through the proposed integration; the MoU sets out a planned route rather than a live service.

The arrangement builds on River's $8.5 million funding round in August, which the firm said would fund execution and prime-brokerage tools for clients trading across prediction-market venues, where positions and liquidity are typically scattered across separate platforms. Adding OG.com's contracts would widen that network, and the Crypto.com link would extend River's offering into crypto spot markets.

"As prediction market participants seek sophisticated strategies, this partnership enables institutional desks to manage broader digital asset exposure seamlessly on a high-performance, secure trading platform," said Iskandar Vanblarcum, Managing Director of Crypto.com Exchange.

Professional involvement in the sector remains small but is growing. A June survey by Acuiti and Singapore Exchange found that 9% of institutional derivatives participants were actively trading prediction markets. Kalshi's Head of Institutional, Andy Ross, said in a recent interview that firms onboarding to or already trading on the exchange collectively manage more than $1 trillion in assets, describing institutions as a significant share of activity and frequent counterparties to one another.

River co-founder and CEO Oscar Levy framed the products as increasingly central to professional trading: "Prediction markets have matured from a niche asset class into essential information infrastructure for global macro and quantitative trading desks."
