Revolut Offers ChatGPT Go Free to Millions of Paid Customers

Revolut is giving millions of paid customers free access to OpenAI's ChatGPT Go, with access length varying by subscription tier, from three months for Standard and Plus to 12 months for Metal and Ultra.

Revolut has partnered with OpenAI to offer ChatGPT Go free to millions of paid banking customers, adding the artificial intelligence subscription to the digital services included with its plans. The offer begins on Thursday for most paid subscribers, while eligible Standard and Plus customers are expected to receive promotional access over the coming weeks.

Access length depends on the customer’s Revolut membership tier. Ultra subscribers, who pay £55 per month in the UK, will receive 12 months of ChatGPT Go for themselves plus a separate 12-month Buddy pass for one guest. Metal customers, whose plan costs £14.99 per month, will also receive 12 months of access. Premium, Revolut Pro and Revolut Mobile subscribers will receive six months, while Standard and Plus customers will qualify for three months on a promotional basis.

ChatGPT Go normally costs £7 per month in the UK, so a 12-month subscription is worth £84, six months is worth £42, and three months is worth £21. The Ultra Buddy pass could double that value for customers who use the extra subscription. ChatGPT Go sits between OpenAI’s free service and its higher-priced subscriptions, offering larger usage allowances, file uploads, document analysis, image generation and memory features powered by GPT-5.6 models.

“We want to empower our customers with tools that are part of their entire day, beyond finance,” said Tara Massoudi, partner and general manager for premium products at Revolut. She said the partnership removes “the burden of fragmented monthly bills” while giving customers access to productivity tools that have become part of everyday routines. Revolut already bundles services covering travel, transport, health, fitness, learning and entertainment, and estimates the combined value of its subscription benefits at about £4,000 per year, depending on usage.

The deal strengthens Revolut’s strategy of competing through subscriptions rather than relying only on payments, cards and foreign exchange services. The tiered structure may encourage upgrades, since customers on Premium or lower tiers receive shorter access periods while Metal and Ultra subscribers get a full year. For OpenAI, the partnership provides access to a large European fintech customer base. Emmanuel Marill, OpenAI’s managing director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said the partnership would help more customers use AI for everyday activities, including travel planning and learning.

The companies already work together: Revolut uses OpenAI technology in its AIR in-app assistant, customer support tools and fraud-monitoring systems. The latest agreement extends that relationship to a consumer subscription benefit. The long-term impact will depend on how many customers activate and continue using ChatGPT Go after the promotional period ends, and whether Revolut can retain subscribers once the free AI access expires.
