OpenWorld and Blockchain.com Announce Strategic Partnership to Advance Digital Asset Infrastructure

Blockchain.com made a strategic investment in OpenWorld and will supply trading, liquidity and institutional market access for the RWA tokenization firm's multi-year expansion.

Blockchain.com has made a strategic investment in OpenWorld Ltd. and will support the RWA-focused blockchain infrastructure firm with trading, liquidity, treasury management and institutional market access as part of a multi-year partnership announced today.

San Francisco-based OpenWorld develops tokenization infrastructure for real-world assets and works with enterprises, public companies and sovereign-related entities. Blockchain.com, which says it has served more than 95 million wallets and 43 million verified users since 2011 and processed over $1.1 trillion in crypto transactions, will integrate its execution and balance sheet capabilities into OpenWorld's proprietary initiatives and third-party client engagements.

The agreement is intended to give OpenWorld's clients end-to-end coverage across digital asset issuance, treasury management and secondary market operations. The two companies also plan to pursue joint go-to-market initiatives, shared origination efforts and coordinated client outreach aimed at expanding adoption of tokenized RWAs among institutional and private market participants.

"We've made a deliberate decision to build OpenWorld's infrastructure layer alongside best-in-class institutional counterparties," said Matthew Shaw, CEO and co-founder of OpenWorld. "Blockchain.com brings the execution depth, product breadth, and regulatory infrastructure that our clients and pipeline demand."

Al Turnbull, managing director of institutional client services at Blockchain.com, said the partnership is "a natural step forward" for Blockchain.com's institutional business, adding that OpenWorld has built a foundation for token launches and RWA tokenization. "By connecting our networks, we are delivering a seamless, secure pipeline for institutions looking to launch tokens and manage digital assets at scale," he said.

The partnership arrives as institutional and high-net-worth investors increasingly seek onchain exposure to traditional assets. Tokenization can enable fractional ownership, improve price discovery and support near-continuous settlement, making historically illiquid assets more accessible and efficient for a wider range of market participants.
