Moomoo Adds Crossover’s Crypto Execution Network for US Retail Traders
Moomoo has connected its trading platform to Crossover Markets' CROSSx execution network, widening its US crypto offering beyond the Coinbase infrastructure it launched with.
Moomoo has struck a partnership with Crossover Markets that gives its US retail investors access to CROSSx, the digital asset execution network operated by the trading technology firm. Under the agreement, Moomoo will link its trading interface to CROSSx's routing technology at the NY4 data centre in New York, connecting the brokerage to Crossover's network of digital asset liquidity providers and counterparties.
The tie-up marks a further build-out of Moomoo's US crypto business, which went live last year using infrastructure supplied by Coinbase. The platform later extended its Texas crypto offering to include wallet deposits and withdrawals alongside 52 supported cryptocurrencies. Moomoo serves more than 30 million investors globally and offers products spanning several asset classes, with crypto trading sitting alongside its wider US investment line-up.
Execution network handles high order volumes
Crossover operates CROSSx as an execution-only electronic communication network for digital assets. According to the company, the system can process orders with sub-10-microsecond order-to-acknowledgement times and absorb elevated volumes of market data and order requests during periods of volatility. Moomoo will also gain access to Crossover's liquidity aggregation and Smart Order Matching technology.
"Digital asset markets are maturing quickly," said Neil McDonald, CEO of Moomoo US, adding that investors increasingly expect the execution standards they are used to in traditional markets. Moomoo said the technology is intended to support retail investors across asset classes and to help sustain crypto trading performance when volatility picks up.
Anthony Mazzarese, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer at Crossover Markets, said that as institutional market structure continues to mature, the platforms leading the space are selecting best-in-class technology for each part of the trade lifecycle.
The partnership extends a period of expansion for Crossover. In March, Tradeweb led a $31 million Series B funding round for the firm, valuing the company at $200 million at the time. The deal with Moomoo places its execution infrastructure inside a retail-facing platform with a global user base, as brokers increasingly look to third-party venues to source crypto liquidity rather than building execution in-house.
