MEXC May-June report: 750m+ USDT Futures Insurance Fund and 100% asset reserves

MEXC's May-June security report shows its Futures Insurance Fund grew 34% to 751M USDT, with BTC reserve ratio at 269.35% and major assets all above 100% coverage.
MEXC, a cryptocurrency exchange offering zero-fee trading, published its May–June bimonthly security report on July 16, revealing that its Futures Insurance Fund surpassed 751 million USDT as of June 29. The fund expanded by over 191 million USDT (34%) compared with the previous reporting period.
The exchange also disclosed asset reserve ratios from its Proof of Reserves system. As of the report date, Bitcoin had a reserve ratio of 269.35%, with 12,656.63 BTC held in wallets against 4,698.90 BTC in user assets. Ethereum posted a reserve ratio of 118.14%, with 77,527.30 ETH held. USDT reserves stood at 113.95% (approximately 2.139 billion USDT in wallets), while USDC showed a reserve ratio of 125.41% (roughly 95.41 million USDC held). All four major assets maintained coverage above 100%.
The report highlighted industry-wide security challenges, citing data from blockchain monitoring agencies that recorded 142 security incidents during May–June, resulting in approximately US$194 million in verifiable losses. DeFi incidents accounted for 55% of cases, with losses of roughly US$150 million. Cross-chain bridges, private key management, and user endpoints were identified as the main weak points.
MEXC’s security response included flagging 9,518 accounts linked to illicit syndicates and dismantling 4,394 fraudulent networks, concentrated in the CIS region (2,096 networks neutralized) and Indonesia (1,229 networks). The exchange processed 497 external statutory investigation requests, executed 53 judicial asset-freezing mandates, and froze 303,277 USDT from high-risk inbound transfers. Additionally, the platform manually handled 812 asset recovery requests for erroneous deposits, recovering assets valued at 343,515 USDT.
Vugar Usi, CEO of MEXC, commented: “True trust is not built on promises made before risks emerge, but on whether protection remains visible and verifiable when challenges arise. With our Futures Insurance Fund surpassing 750 million USDT, together with publicly verifiable Proof of Reserves, we are reinforcing MEXC’s role as a trusted global gateway.”
The MEXC Guardian Fund continues to operate a dual-reserve architecture with USDT and BTC allocations, with wallet addresses publicly accessible for audit.
