MEX Exchange Names David Ogg Vice Chairman, Brian Andreyko as CEO

MEX Exchange, MultiBank Group's institutional electronic trading platform, has appointed David Ogg as vice chairman and Brian Andreyko as chief executive officer as it expands its institutional trading capabilities.

MEX Exchange, the institutional electronic trading venue owned by MultiBank Group, has made two senior leadership appointments as it moves to expand its institutional trading capabilities. David Ogg has been promoted to vice chairman, and Brian Andreyko has been named chief executive officer.

Ogg has spent more than four decades in foreign exchange trading and trading technology. Known in the institutional FX market as the "Father of the ECN," he founded HotspotFX in 1999, described as the first institutional FX electronic communications network. He later set up LavaFX and Ogg Trading. His career includes senior positions at Credit Suisse, Lehman Brothers, HSBC and Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, as well as work with Bloomberg and Citibank on institutional FX solutions. He has been inducted into the Profit & Loss Hall of Fame.

Andreyko brings more than 30 years of experience in financial technology and institutional markets, having built and scaled electronic trading businesses. He previously served as chief operating officer and chief of staff at Currenex, and as executive vice president and head of EBS at ICAP. He was also CEO of MakoFX/Liquidity Pool and chief business officer at TradAir; both firms were later acquired.

Focus on institutional growth

In statements released with the announcement, both executives pointed to plans to broaden MEX Exchange's institutional offering. Andreyko highlighted an emphasis on connecting emerging market and global participants through a scalable trading platform. The appointments come as MultiBank Group continues to invest in the leadership and infrastructure of its exchange business.
