Lemon Enables Bill Payments in Pesos or Crypto Directly from the App

Argentine crypto app Lemon now lets users pay more than 5,000 household bills directly from its app, using pesos or cryptocurrencies.

Argentine crypto platform Lemon has launched a new feature that lets users pay over 5,000 recurring services — including electricity, gas, internet, phone, credit cards, and taxes — directly from the Lemon app. The payments can be made in Argentine pesos or in crypto, expanding the use of digital assets for everyday expenses.

The company said the goal is to make cryptocurrencies more accessible and practical in daily life. Users can access the feature from the app's main screen by selecting the "Pay your services" banner. After searching for the desired service and entering the electronic payment code for the first time, the service is saved for future one-tap payments.

Lemon charges no extra fee for bill payments. However, if the user chooses to pay with crypto — supported coins include USDC, USDT, BTC, and ETH — a 0.5% commission is applied for the crypto-to-fiat conversion. Users can also choose to pay with their peso balance with no additional cost.

The app also sends a push notification before each bill's due date to remind users to pay on time. Lemon says this eliminates the need to manually sell crypto to pesos each month to cover recurring bills — users can instead pay directly from their crypto holdings.

Available Services and Supported Coins

The payment service covers more than 5,000 different providers across categories such as telecommunications, internet, prepaid medical plans, credit cards, and government taxes. To see which services are available, users can use the search tool inside the app's payment section.

Lemon already offers a Visa debit card (Lemon Card) that allows spending crypto at any merchant accepting Visa worldwide. The new bill-payment feature adds another use case, integrating crypto further into the local financial ecosystem of Argentina, where digital currency adoption is high amid inflation and capital controls.
