Interactive Brokers Group Announces 1Q2026 Results
Interactive Brokers Q1 2026 earnings: GAAP diluted EPS $0.59 (adjusted $0.60), net revenues $1.67B, customer accounts up 31% to 4.75M. Board raises dividend to $0.0875 per share.
Interactive Brokers Group (Nasdaq: IBKR) reported financial results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2026. GAAP diluted earnings per share came in at $0.59, while adjusted EPS was $0.60. In the same quarter a year earlier, the broker posted GAAP diluted EPS of $0.48 and adjusted EPS of $0.47.
Net revenues on a GAAP basis reached $1.67 billion for the quarter, up from $1.43 billion in the prior-year period. Adjusted net revenues were $1.68 billion, compared with $1.40 billion a year ago. Income before income taxes rose to $1.29 billion (adjusted: $1.30 billion), versus $1.06 billion (adjusted: $1.02 billion) in 1Q2025.
The company's pretax profit margin improved to 77% both as reported and adjusted, up from 74% and 73%, respectively, in the year-ago quarter.
Revenue and Operating Highlights
Commission revenue increased 19% year-over-year to $613 million, driven by higher customer trading volumes. Customer stock trading volume rose 25%, while futures and options volumes increased 20% and 16%, respectively. Net interest income grew 17% to $904 million, supported by higher average customer margin loans and credit balances. Other fees and services revenue rose 10% to $86 million.
Total customer accounts surged 31% to 4.75 million, and customer equity jumped 38% to $789.4 billion. Daily average revenue trades (DARTs) climbed 24% to 4.37 million. Customer margin loans increased 35% to $86.0 billion, while customer credits grew 35% to $168.8 billion.
Execution, clearing and distribution fees fell 12% to $106 million, partly due to lower regulatory fees after the SEC Section 31 transaction fee rate was reduced to zero in May 2025.
Dividend Increase
The Interactive Brokers Board of Directors declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.0875 per share, up from $0.08. The dividend is payable on June 12, 2026, to shareholders of record as of June 1, 2026.
Other Items
Interactive Brokers’ currency diversification strategy reduced comprehensive earnings by $53 million in the quarter, as the U.S. dollar value of the GLOBAL basket of 10 major currencies decreased by approximately 0.30%.
The company ended the quarter with total equity of $21.3 billion.
