IG's Karman Wong Set to Join Trade Nation as Commercial Director, Emerging Markets

Karman Wong has left IG Group after more than 13 years to take up the role of Commercial Director, Emerging Markets at Trade Nation. Wong is based in Australia, where Trade Nation serves clients through Trade Nation Australia Pty Ltd under ASIC licence AFSL 422661.

Wong spent her entire IG tenure focused on Greater China. She joined the broker as a sales trader in 2013, was promoted to Vice President, China in 2016 and worked for two years from IG's Shanghai office before returning to Melbourne in 2018 as International Business Development Manager for Greater China. Since 2020 she had led the company's emerging-markets business in APAC, overseeing clients based in mainland China — a role she held for more than six years.

A targeted regional hire

Trade Nation's Asia-Pacific footprint is concentrated almost entirely in Australia, where it competes for the same active CFD and FX traders IG targets. Its proposition rests on a narrower, fixed-spread product range rather than IG's broader multi-asset platform, which makes the appointment of a commercial director with a long record of sourcing and managing emerging-markets flow look like a targeted move rather than a generalist executive hire.

The role sits alongside Trade Nation's existing commercial leadership. Andy Merry has been the broker's Chief Commercial Officer for more than a decade. It is not clear whether Wong reports into that structure or operates in a separate, regionally focused function.

Wong's arrival extends a pattern at Trade Nation: CEO Jon Noble is a former senior IG executive, and in November 2025 the broker appointed Kypros Zoumidou as Managing Director. Zoumidou is also an IG alumnus and had most recently served as CEO of Capital.com. With Wong's hire, Trade Nation has now added a fourth senior leader with IG ties in roughly a year.

Neither IG Group nor Trade Nation had confirmed the appointment publicly at the time of writing.
