HYPE Derivatives Launching On Deribit

Deribit is launching derivative contracts for HYPE, Hyperliquid's native token, with a perpetual starting June 16 and options/futures on June 23.

Deribit, the leading crypto derivatives exchange, announced it will list a suite of derivative contracts for HYPE, the native token of the decentralized exchange Hyperliquid.

Trading will roll out in two phases. On June 16, 2026 at 09:00 UTC, the HYPE_USDC perpetual contract goes live. One week later, on June 23, 2026 at 09:00 UTC, HYPE_USDC options and dated futures become available.

Initial expiries for options and futures include two daily, two weekly, one monthly and one quarterly contract. The options symbol follows the format HYPE_USDC-DDMMMYY-STRIKE-SIDE, the perpetual uses HYPE_USDC-PERPETUAL, and futures use HYPE_USDC-DDMMMYY.

Key contract specifications: options have a multiplier of 10, while perpetuals and futures use a multiplier of 1. Minimum order sizes are 1 contract for options and 0.1 HYPE for both perpetuals and futures. Minimum tick sizes vary by price level for options, while perpetuals have a 0.001 tick and futures 0.005. Block trade minimums are 150 contracts for options and 50,000 USDC for perpetuals and futures.

Beyond speculative trading, the new derivatives allow HYPE holders to hedge positions or generate yield. Deribit also offers a free options course for newcomers via its knowledge base and YouTube channel.
