GMO Coin Becomes First in Japan to List Wilder World (WILD)

GMO Coin will become the first Japanese crypto exchange to list Wilder World (WILD), the governance token of a 3D metaverse project. Trading begins March 23, 2026.

GMO Coin, the crypto exchange arm of the GMO Internet Group, announced that it will begin offering Wilder World (WILD) on its platform from March 23, 2026. The listing marks the first time a Japanese exchange has supported the token, according to the Japan Virtual and Crypto Assets Exchange Association (JVCEA).

Wilder World is a next-generation 3D open-world metaverse project that combines photorealistic graphics, advanced artificial intelligence, and blockchain technology. The WILD token serves as the ecosystem’s native currency and also functions as a governance token, allowing holders to vote on protocol changes and preventing unilateral rule modifications by developers.

Key features of the project

Within the Wilder World metaverse, in-game assets such as land, vehicles, and items are represented as NFTs. Players can freely hold and trade these digital assets using WILD tokens on the marketplace. Achievements like experience points and rankings are recorded on the blockchain, making them tamper-proof and verifiable — a feature that enhances the value of player-developed characters.

Currently, demo versions of a racing game and a first-person shooter game are available. Further development is underway toward a full public release, which is expected to expand the utility of WILD within the ecosystem.

GMO Coin will begin accepting deposits of WILD from March 21, 2026, and transfers from March 23. Spot trading on the exchange will start at noon on March 23. Detailed trading rules are scheduled to be published on the company’s corporate website on March 19.

With this addition, GMO Coin now supports 23 crypto assets. The exchange is registered with Japan’s Financial Services Agency as a crypto asset exchange and a Type I financial instruments business operator. It is a consolidated subsidiary of GMO Financial Holdings.
