FTMO Launches Futures Prop Trading With Growth and Pro Plans

Prop firm FTMO has added exchange-traded futures to its evaluation business through two plans, Growth and Pro, with a 90% trader profit split and payouts capped by account size.
FTMO has widened its prop-trading offering with the launch of FTMO Futures, which brings exchange-traded futures into its evaluation business via two options: Growth and Pro. Both run on simulated evaluation and simulated funded accounts rather than handing every successful trader capital in a live brokerage account. The company says the service is available internationally, though eligibility and product availability stay subject to its terms and geographic limits. The rollout follows FTMO's acquisition of OANDA; in March, OANDA separated its brokerage operations as its prop-trading unit moved to FTMO Group.
Two plans, different risk rules
Growth is the cheaper tier and carries no daily loss limit during the evaluation, while its simulated funded stage applies a soft daily limit, so a daily breach does not automatically end the account. Participants may request as much as half of available simulated profit per payout cycle. Pro uses a hard daily loss limit and targets traders who accept tighter daily controls in exchange for a profit-target-to-maximum-drawdown ratio as low as one-to-one. Pro requests can cover up to 100% of available simulated profit in a cycle, subject to payout caps that FTMO puts at $5,000 to $8,000 depending on account size. Both tiers are sold in $50,000, $100,000 and $150,000 sizes and apply a 90% share for the trader and 10% for FTMO at the simulated funded stage.
Drawdown is calculated end-of-day on a trailing basis. The threshold follows gains based on the end-of-day balance and stops moving once it reaches the starting account balance — a contrast with intraday trailing models, which can track unrealised gains and leave less room if a position reverses before closing. Traders still need clarity on whether open positions are included in calculations, when the trading day ends and how the rule interacts with overnight futures sessions. FTMO says its consistency rule applies only during evaluation, and that there is no separate activation fee once an evaluation is passed.
Otakar Šuffner, co-founder and chief executive of FTMO, said: "For years, traders have asked FTMO to bring its experience to futures. FTMO listened." He said the product was built around additional trading room, payout terms tied to profits and rules traders can understand in advance.
FTMO Futures is accessible through Tradovate, NinjaTrader and TradingView. Evaluation accounts are denominated in US dollars and sold as monthly subscriptions, per the company's product documentation. Familiar platforms may shorten the learning curve, but orders, balances and performance remain inside FTMO's simulated environment. FTMO says more than 4.5 million users across 140 countries have tried its products since 2015 — a cumulative figure that says nothing about pass rates or payouts. The company states it does not act as a broker and does not accept deposits; funded accounts and payouts refer to rewards calculated from simulated results.
