FTMO Founders to Become OANDA Co-CEOs

The founders of proprietary trading firm FTMO are set to take the helm at OANDA after the acquisition of the retail forex broker. Otakar Šuffner and Marek Vašíček will assume the roles of co-CEOs, replacing current CEO Gavin Bambury.
In a statement released on March 27, 2026, the FTMO founders said the leadership transition was mutually agreed upon following constructive discussions about the future direction of both companies. They praised Bambury's leadership and acknowledged the strong foundation he helped build, which made OANDA an attractive acquisition target.
Despite the change at the top, FTMO and OANDA will continue to operate as independent organizations. All other teams and operations in each country remain unchanged, the statement clarified.
The move underscores FTMO's ambition to evolve into a global trading powerhouse, leveraging OANDA's established brand and regulatory footprint. The acquisition, announced earlier this year, brings together FTMO's challenge-based funding model with OANDA's retail brokerage services.
