eToro to Acquire US Brokerage TradeZero in Deal Worth Up to $231 Million

eToro agrees to buy TradeZero for up to $231M in cash and shares, adding a US active-trader platform and Canadian reach.

eToro (NASDAQ: ETOR) announced Tuesday that it has reached an agreement to acquire TradeZero, a US-focused online brokerage serving active traders. The deal is the latest move in eToro's strategy to expand its presence in the United States.

TradeZero, founded in 2015, provides advanced trading platforms and broker-dealer infrastructure, along with a base of active traders. The acquisition also gives eToro access to Canada, since TradeZero operates in the US, Canada, and other international markets.

Under the terms, eToro expects to pay up to $231 million in total consideration, comprising cash and up to 2.5 million newly issued Class A common shares, subject to customary purchase price adjustments.

eToro CEO Yoni Assia said the acquisition accelerates the company's US growth plans. He noted the combination offers a faster path to launching new products for US customers and said the two teams will be able to innovate faster together. TradeZero CEO Daniel Pipitone said joining eToro gives his firm access to a larger global platform and millions of users, providing the scale to accelerate innovation.

TradeZero generated roughly $80 million in revenue over the past year, with gross margins of 81%. eToro said the transaction is expected to be accretive to adjusted earnings per share in its first year after closing.

The acquisition remains subject to regulatory approval and is expected to close in the first half of 2027.
