Deribit Moves Beyond Crypto with 90+ USDC-Settled Perpetuals
Crypto derivatives exchange Deribit has widened its perpetual futures offering to more than 90 contracts settled in USDC, extending its lineup beyond crypto-margined products.
Deribit, the crypto derivatives exchange, has expanded its perpetual futures range to more than 90 contracts settled in USDC, moving its product line beyond crypto-margined structures. The expansion applies the dollar-pegged stablecoin as the settlement asset across a broad set of perpetual swaps.
Perpetual swaps — futures-style contracts that never expire — are among the most heavily traded instruments in digital-asset markets, used by directional traders and market makers alike. Settling those contracts in USDC rather than a volatile token changes the collateral mechanics for users: margin and profit-and-loss balances are denominated in a unit designed to hold a $1 peg, rather than in an asset whose price moves with the wider market.
Stablecoin settlement
Stablecoin-margined contracts have become a common feature on major derivatives venues, which market them as a way to cut friction for traders who keep balances in dollars rather than tokens. Deribit's move extends that approach to a contract list that now numbers more than 90 instruments, pointing to coverage across a wide set of underlying assets rather than a handful of the largest coins.
For Deribit, the change is a product-line expansion rather than a shift in focus: the exchange remains a crypto-native derivatives venue centred on options and perpetuals. Listing USDC-settled contracts gives traders an alternative funding and settlement route alongside the existing crypto-margined range.
The headline figure of more than 90 perpetuals also signals scale. A stablecoin-settled range of that size implies the venue expects demand from traders seeking exposure to a broad spread of tokens without adjusting collateral denomination for every position.
