CMC Markets Expands 24/5 US Trading to More Than 5,000 Shares and ETFs

CMC Markets has expanded its 24/5 US trading offering to more than 5,000 US shares and exchange-traded funds (ETFs). The wider coverage lets clients trade a broader range of American-listed securities outside the standard market session.

With 24/5 access, traders can open and close positions across the US trading week, which runs from Monday through Friday. The extended window covers the full overnight and early-morning period when regular New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq sessions are closed.

Extended-hours coverage

The additional instruments bring more US-listed shares and ETFs into the broker's around-the-clock offering. Extended-hours trading is commonly used by investors who want to respond quickly to corporate earnings, economic data releases and other market-moving news that breaks outside normal trading hours.

Trading outside regular sessions can involve thinner liquidity and wider spreads than a standard market day, factors that may affect execution prices. As the expanded list goes live, clients will be able to access the wider US equities universe through CMC Markets' existing trading platforms.
