BoursoBank Launches New Banking Offer for Teenagers

BoursoBank has launched a new 100% mobile banking offer for teenagers aged 10-17, featuring a personal account, WELCOME card, savings products, and parental controls. The digital bank now serves over 830,000 minor clients.

BoursoBank, the leading French digital bank, has unveiled a revamped banking offer for teenagers, lowering the minimum age from 12 to 10. The new 100% mobile solution gives adolescents a full-fledged banking experience under the same app used by their parents.

The offer includes a personal checking account with a RIB, enabling teens to send and receive money from family and friends. A WELCOME Visa Classic card (physical or virtual) comes with free currency payments, virtual card creation, and enrollment in major mobile wallets like Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay. Free travel and medical insurance cover up to €46,000.

Savings features include the Bourso+ Jeune account with a raised limit of €10,000 (up from €4,000) and a boosted interest rate of 2.4% per year (previously 1.5%). A Livret A account is available up to €22,950 at 1.5% net. Life insurance products start at €300 with management fees of 0.75%.

Teenagers also get access to The Corner discount program with offers from over 40 retailers (Auchan, Carrefour, Decathlon, etc.) and the Wicount budgeting tool to track spending. Educational content helps build financial literacy.

For parents, full control remains: they can view the teen's account, set payment and withdrawal limits in real time, block the card temporarily or permanently, and restrict usage (e.g., abroad or online). The account cannot go into overdraft.

The rollout also involves migrating existing FREEDOM offer clients to the main BoursoBank app, with the same login credentials. More than 830,000 minor clients currently use BoursoBank, and the bank estimates 3 million children of its adult clients are eligible for the new offer.
