BoursoBank Integrates Wero Into Its Payment Solutions
BoursoBank will integrate EPI's Wero instant payment service by end-2026, allowing customers to send money via phone number or email. It becomes the first French bank to offer the service to minors aged 10-17.
BoursoBank, the French online bank with over 8.9 million clients, has announced a partnership with the European Payments Initiative (EPI) to integrate the Wero instant payment solution by the end of 2026. The move will allow customers to send and receive money in seconds using only a mobile phone number or email address, without needing the recipient's IBAN.
The Wero service, developed and operated in Europe by EPI, already counts more than 55 million users, 72% of whom are in France. It enables real-time account-to-account payments and is designed to offer a sovereign, unified payment infrastructure across Europe. BoursoBank will be the first bank in France to offer Wero to minors from the age of 10, through its 10-17 account offering.
The feature will be free and available 24/7. By the end of the year, BoursoBank customers will be able to send and receive money across Europe in a frictionless manner using only a phone number. The service complements BoursoBank's existing free payment offerings, which include free instant transfers in euros to 36 European countries, free international transfers in 32 currencies, free card payments and withdrawals worldwide, and support for digital wallets such as Apple Pay and Google Pay.

BoursoBank has offered free instant transfers since 2019. In the first quarter of 2026, 88% of transfers sent by its customers were free instant transfers, up 5 percentage points year-on-year. Transfers by value are nearly five times larger than card payments, reflecting the growing use of instant transfers for high-value transactions.
