Binance launches USDT-settled Commodity Options for Gold and Silver

Binance has introduced USDT-settled European-style options on gold and silver, with cash settlement, no liquidation risk for buyers, and 1-day and 1-week expiries.

Binance announced on July 30, 2026 the launch of Commodity Options, a new product category offering USDT-settled, European-style contracts on gold and silver. The contracts are cash-settled in USDT and do not require traders to hold or transfer the underlying precious metals to open or settle positions.

The offering expands Binance's traditional finance-oriented product suite and is built to let users express directional views, trade volatility, or hedge existing exposure from a single Binance account. The listed underlyings are XAUUSDT for gold and XAGUSDT for silver, and trading is available through the Binance platform, the Binance App, and the exchange's API.

The options follow European-style exercise, meaning they can only be exercised at expiry, with one-day and one-week tenors available per underlying. For option buyers, the maximum loss is capped at the premium paid, and long positions carry no liquidation risk. Retail users can only take long positions, via buy-to-open and sell-to-close orders.

Trading hours are aligned with the underlying market sessions. Gold and silver options are open from Sunday at 6:00 PM ET to Friday at 5:00 PM ET, with a daily market closure from 5:00 PM ET to 6:00 PM ET.

The launch adds a precious-metals derivatives channel to Binance's existing options infrastructure, giving users another way to trade commodities without leaving the crypto ecosystem.
