Alberta Securities Commission Adds Fusion Markets to Investment Caution List

The Alberta Securities Commission cautions investors that Fusion Markets is not registered to trade or advise on securities or derivatives in Alberta.
The Alberta Securities Commission (ASC) has issued a warning to investors that Fusion Markets is not registered to trade in or advise on securities or derivatives in the province. The regulator advises against dealing with unregistered firms, noting that such firms do not provide any assurance of investor protection.
The warning, published on the ASC’s website, recommends that investors avoid engaging with companies that lack proper registration. The ASC pointed investors to CheckFirst.ca, a resource it operates, for guidance on investing wisely and avoiding fraud.
Registration checks urged
The regulator also encouraged all investors to verify the registration status of any firm or platform before putting money in. A dedicated page on CheckFirst.ca/Check-Registration explains why confirming registration is an essential step before investing.
The ASC’s caution adds to a list of regulatory actions against online trading platforms that operate without local authorization. Under Canadian provincial securities laws, firms offering trading or advisory services must be registered with the relevant regulator.
Fusion Markets has not publicly responded to the ASC notice at the time of writing.
